Racing action took place on Friday night July 20th as a warm summer's day turned into liquid night. Over 300 fans took
in the sights and sounds of the chase for the Pathfinder Cup.
First up, the first of three heats for the stock mower class.
Steve Perry climbed aboard Mike Lux's John Deere and cruised to the win.
Rick Grant and Bruce Plouffe rounded out the top 3 to move into the main feature.
Second heat action saw Scott Powers taking the checkers with Ben Grant and Patrick Perron advancing to the main as well.
The 3rd heat found Mike Lux piloting his way to a win with Vinnie Curro and Phil Bowley also advancing to the main.
The "B" main feature was as thrilling as any ever raced on the oval. Shannon Wilkinson on his rear engine Bolens held
off a hard charging Joe Lovejoy and Dan Bowley in a race that boasted three wide action.
After a redraw for positions, Patrick Perron started on the pole for the main feature and led the first 16 laps before
a spin sent him to the back.
Rick Grant moved into the lead and paced the field with Vinnie Curro dogging his every move. Vinnie made his move as
lapped traffic took it's toll on the leader.
Rick fell back to second and then pitted with a flat tire, leaving Scott Powers in second and Pluffy third.
Lap after lap Vinnie held on as Scott tried everything he could to pass cleanly.
With a handfull of laps remaining, Scott's left front tire came off and he got spun.
Vinnie then cruised to the win with Patrick Perron and his career best second place and Shannon Wilkinson scored an amazing
third.
The Modified class feature was won by #88 Randy Philpot with #40 Norm Dakin taking a thrilling second place. For the
entire feature Norm tried to get around Randy using everything he had. Countless brushes against the back straight guard rail
and racing flat footed through the corners wasn't enough to take the win from Randy.
